Finding the Rules that Contain an Email Address of Someone Who No Longer Should Receive Email Notifications

Version 1

    Details

Finding the Rules that Contain an Email Address of Someone Who No Longer Should Receive Email Notifications.  Assumption is for example, Bobby.Jimmy@Critters.com should no longer receive notifications.  All rules referencing this email address as a Send Mail action need to be altered.  If the Rules use an AutoTask to send mail, then this is a different process.

    Resolution

    1. Run the following to find all      Rule Actions that contain that email address:

    SELECT GName

    FROM HEATGen

    WHERE GCode = 'RE'

    AND GDetail LIKE '%Bobby.Jimmy@Critters.com%'

    1. The results will be 10 digit      numbers like 0000000026 and 0000000027.  The action name is truncated      in the GDetail column for the Rule Definitions and is stored as part of      the GDetail as the following instead of the full number:  ID=26.
    2. To find which rules use that      email address you could run the following statement assuming that both 26      and 27 were returned from the first query:

    SELECT *

    FROM HEATGen

    WHERE GCode = 'RD'

AND GDetail LIKE '%ID=26%' OR GDetail LIKE '%ID=27%'

    1. The results will list the RD      GCode rows that contain that email address as the action or one of the      actions for the rule.  Look at the beginning of the GDetail column      ([Details]  Name=….) to find the actual name of the rule that needs      to be modified.
