Version 1

    Details

How to find quickly field values which are not shown on the screen from the current contact record
For Example. ACCOUNTNO, OWNER, STATUS or RECID of a contact record

    Resolution

There are several possibilities (for example an SQL Query) but the fastest possibility is via the dBASE Expression Tester.

    [STEPS]
    1. As a user with master rights
    2. Browse to the record you want to evaluate a dBase expression against
    2. CTRL + SHIFT + D > This opens the dBASE Expression Tester window
    3. Enter in the dBASE Expression pane the contact record field value you want to evaluate
    For Example accountno
or owner or contact2->userdef01 (see additional information)
    4. Click the EVAL button
    5. If necessary the result can be also copied into the Windows clipboard
For Example to be used in SQL queries in the Microsoft SQL Server back end

    Additional Information:
CONTACT1 fields can be referenced simply by there field name like ACCOUNTNO, OWNER, STATUS, RECID
CONTACT2 fields need to be referenced by the table-name->field name Example. CONTACT2->USERDEF01
Neither is it recommended and in most cases it is not possible to evaluate any fields from other tables related to the contact record. In such cases we recommend to use the SQL Query feature of GoldMine, which would be also recommended for users without master rights
