Is there any wildcard search possible within GoldMine Premium Edition's Contact Search Center if I don't know the exact search term?
- The following wildcards are available for GoldMine Premium Edition:
% : A percentage is a replacement any amount of characters, this can be zero, one or many characters
_ : An underscore is a replacement for exactly one character
- Additional specific wildcards or search options:
- [characterlist] searches, while other scenarios may work the best results are usually achieved with an operator Begins with. The following are some examples:
a. Contact begins with [ajz] >> will provide a list with contacts starting with "a", "j" or "z"
b. City begins with [a-d] >> will provide a list of records where the city starts either with "a", "b", "c", or "d"
c. Acct Mgr begins with [^mnq] >> will provide a list of records where the Account Manager does NOT start with "m", "n" or "q"
(the character ^ can be entered with ALT+94)
The availability of wildcards may change without any notice, as they are rather available due to Microsoft SQL Server's capability and not as an intended feature or functionality of GoldMine Premium Edition directly.
