After upgrading Exchange, HMC stops reading MAPI emails

    This article describes how to resolve an issue where HMC stops reading emails after upgrading Exchange.


    Resolution

    1. Customer has upgraded Exchange

    2. Log into the HMC Server as the account running the HMC MAPI Listener service.


    3. Launch Outlook

    4. User will receive a message from Exchange (that appears in Outlook) stating that something has changed on the Exchange server and to re-launch Outlook

    5. Re-launch Outlook.

    6. Restart the HMC Message Processor and MAPI Listener services.

    7. Issue is resolved.
