How do I update a Date/Time field with the timezone information from an email?

    Details

    We have an Inbox configured to update the object External Task (Task.WorkOrder) : When attempting to set a date/time field with a string via the email, the timestamp is accepted as UTC rather than the local time.

    The field definition is configured as: 



    The email format used is:   TaskOnsiteDateTime|2014-09-29 17:30

    How do you specify the timezone information?


    Resolution

     


    The timezone is stored in a separate field ending in _timezone and can be specified as follows: 

    TaskOnsiteDateTime| 2014-09-30 08:51:58
    TaskOnsiteDateTime_timezone| GMT

    The valid timezone values are stored in the Timezone object in the TimezoneID field.
