Tried to restore a database and connect to it but getting an error: Database server login/password parameters are not correct. On Firebird DB server this error is also returned if Firebird server is not running or database parameters are incorrect. - when network users attempt to login to log into GoldMine.
1. Close the error and close the GoldMine splash screen 2. Browse out to your local GoldMine directory (C:\program files(x86)\GoldMine\) 3. Open the gm.ini 4. Set the realini to the correct UNC path to the gm.ini on the GoldMine server (e.g. realini=\\server\GoldMine\gm.ini) 5. Log into GoldMine from the server (verify that you can log in from the server, first) as a master user 6. Go to Tools>>databases>>alias manager, highlight the alias and click "Edit" 7. Input the SQL username and password and then “Test Connection” NOTE: verify that it connects successfully then click OK all the way out of the Alias manager 8. Go to Tools>>User's Settings, highlight the non-master user getting the error (NOTE: you may have to do this for each non-master user) and click “Properties” 9. Click on the "Access" tab 10. Set the SQL username and password here 11. Repeat steps 8-10 for all other GoldMine user 12. Now test logging into GoldMine as the affected users
