OpsConsole error: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."

    When trying to test the Config Service URL or the Multi Instance Service URL in the OpsConsole (when editing/adding a Landscape), receive error: "Failed to conenct due to: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."

    Resolution

    This error occurs when SSL is employed, but not properly supported via the method you are using.


    In the example above, it is because the server attempting to be accessed is https://HEAT2014-11, but the certificate is issued to the FQDN: HEAT2014-11.corp.local.  As such, https://HEAT2014-11.corp.local would test fine.  As such, troubleshooting should include:

    1. Ensuring that the server being used matches the name that the certificate is issued to
    2. SSL is enabled for the CentralConfig site
