Contact Search Center acts like an activated filter on the contacts and ‘activates filter’ on the x of y simply when searching via the Contact Search Center (CSC)

Version 1

    Details

    Contact Search Center acts like an activated filter on the contacts and ‘activates filter’ on the x of y simply when searching via the Contact Search Center (CSC)

    [STEPS TO REPRODUCE]
    1. Within GMPE and any demo data
    2. Make sure  to have NO Contact Search Center tab open
    3. Verify the x of y information at the right of the contact record title bar

    4. Make a double click on the company label (opens the CSC with the criteria Company begins with the current company name)
    5. Switch back to the Contact record
    6. Verify the x of y information at the right of the contact record title bar

    [RESULT]
    - this works now like an activated filter and displays only records matching the entered criteria in the Contact Search Center (CSC) which is indicated by the x of y information
    -  the user cannot scroll/browse through any further contact records and  has either to close the Contact Search tab (CSC) completely or reset the  search value manually with a % in order to see all contact records  again

    Resolution

    [CAUSE]

    the behavior is triggered by a setting in the USER.INI and can be changed by editing the USER.INI

    [STEPS]

    0. The specific User should log out of GoldMine
    1. Browse to the User.INI (GoldMine folder on application server or if undocked user you’ll find that locally)
    2. Open the USER.INI (e.g. MASTER.ini) via Note Pad
    3. Locate the section [GM_SEARCH_CENTER]
    4. Add / Adjust the setting

    SyncContent=0 (the value can be either 1 for activating the Contact Search result filter (syncing content) or 0 for leaving all records available (not syncing content)

    The entry may then look like

    [GM_Search_Center]

    SyncContent=0

    5. Save the User.INI file
    6. User should log into GoldMine and may verify the folders again

    Additional Notes:
    - this setting is a user individual setting so you may have to apply  this to all users or try to set a global override in the GM.ini - this should be  documented and only performed by a GoldMine Administrator.

    1. Log out of GoldMine
    2. Open in the GoldMine shared folder the GM.INI with Notepad
    3. Add/adjust the sections

    [User-Override:GM_SEARCH_CENTER]
    SyncContent=0

    4. Save the GM.INI
    5. Log into GoldMine and verify the behavior
