Important information regarding licensing for GoldMine 2014.2 or higher
From version 2014.2 onward GoldMine requires new licenses for Premium and for Mobile.
A prompt for the new Premium (E) license occurs at the end of the installation or upgrade wizard. GoldMine cannot be launched until the new license is entered. Before upgrading an existing installation, please make sure the new license is available. It is not possible to roll back to the previous version. To continue using GoldMine without the new license, it is necessary to uninstall GoldMine 2014.2, restore the SQL database to a backup made before the upgrade, and reinstall the previously used version.
New customers are issued the appropriate license(s) at purchase; existing customers current on maintenance can request new license(s) from Customer Care. Licenses should be requested a minimum of one day before the license is needed to allow time for processing. Customer Care is not available on weekends.
It is recommend that existing GoldMine Mobile (M) licenses be removed from Tools > Configure > License Manager prior to upgrade. Other licenses should not be removed. The upgrade process will upgrade all S, Y, and U licenses to the new version. Following the upgrade, the new GoldMine Mobile license should be entered in the License Manager. Assigned users for GoldMine Mobile are retained.
The main server (E license) must be upgraded first. A new license file (LicenseGM94.bin) is created during the upgrade process. The LicenseGM.bin used by GoldMine versions 9.0 – 2014.1 will remain in the GoldMine data folder. This license must remain in the folder for all client workstation auto-upgrades to occur. Once all workstations are upgraded, it is recommended that the LicenseGM.bin file be removed from the GoldMine data folder. A back-up of the file can be kept in an alternate location.
After the server has been upgraded, Site and Undocked installations are unable to synchronize until they are upgraded to the same version/build. After upgrading Sites and Undockeds, enter the converted GMPE 2014.2 formatted license with ‘94’ version number from the main install license manager when prompted.
