When upgrading the ConfigDB or HEAT Database to the HEAT 2014.3.1 metadata revision in the System Configuration Wizard a timeout error can occur.

    For example:
Failed to apply patch to the tenant {Tenant Name}: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:59:59.8730030. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.

This article details on how to increase the timeout values.

    Resolution

The timeout settings for the values sendTimeout and receiveTimeout in the file C:\Program Files\FrontRange Solutions\HEAT\ReleaseTool\ReleaseToolCmd.exe.config need to be increased to correct this error.  They are currently set to 1 hour.

Increase these to a larger value - e.g. 03:00:00 for 3 hours.  We recommend that a backup of this file is taken before making any changes to the settings.
