Info for the HEAT Remote plugin (as part of Premise Service Management 2014.3.1 and later) in the Google Chrome browser

    Resolution

After you launch HEAT Remote the first time, you should have an option to install the chrome plugin for Remote:

If that takes you to the Chrome store, and shows you a “Not Compatible” message:

This is because you are running Chrome in “Windows 8 Metro Mode” – You are either running Chrome on a Windows 8 platform, or on a Server environment.  This is a Chrome problem/bug in these versions of Windows. For full details, see:

(As of 30 Dec 2014, for the above).

To attempt to work around this, you can set your Chrome to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7:

And start HEAT Remote again. You should then be prompted to install the plugin:

After clicking OK, you can again click Install:

You should be able to now install the plugin from the store:

After doing so, restart Chrome, and restart your browser.

Note also, you may be warned that your Chrome is blocking the extension:

You will need to allow it, in order for Remote to function properly.
