How to enable the ability to Search on Employee to see all Teams, but nothing else

    Specific role needs to be able to Search for an Employee and only see the Teams s/he belongs to. They should not have access to any other areas.

    Specific role needs to be able to Search for an Employee and only see the Teams s/he belongs to. They should not have access to any other areas.


    1. Launch Configure Application
    2. Select Business Objects
    3. In the Find, enter Employee
    4. Once the Employee business object is open, select Forms
    5. Copy the Profile.Employee.SDA Form
    6. Rename the form based on the role it will be used for, i.e. Profile.Employee.NewRole 
    7. Save
    8. Open the form and remove any fields you are not going to use
    9. Save
    10. Select Grids
    11. Copy the Profile.Employee Grid
    12. Rename the Grid based on the role it will be used for, i.e. Profile.Employee.NewRole 
    13. Save
    14. Open the Grid and remove any fields you are not going to use
    15. Save
    16. Select Layouts
    17. Copy the Profile.Employee.SDA Layout
    18. Rename the Layout based on the role it will be used for, i.e. Profile.Employee.NewRole 
    19. Save
    20. Open the Layout and select gridView
    21. Change the Grid to point to the newly created grid
    22. Chang the Preview Form to point to the newly created grid or leave pointing to Brief
    23. Save
    24. Go back to the Edit Layout
    25. Select the formView
    26. Remove all Child Panels except Details and Teams
    27. Click on the Forms under Details and select the newly created form
    28. Save
    29. Select Users and Permissions
    30. Select Roles and Permissions
    31. Select the correct Role
    32. Select Top Level Tabs
    33. Select Add New Tab
    34. Select Object Workspace
    35. Name the Workspace "Employee Search"
    36. Select the Employee for the Business Object
    37. Select your new Layout for the Layout
    38. Save
    39. Save the Role
    40. Refresh the Client
