Version 2

    Details

    GoldMine Speller: Button Setup Dictionaries in User Options is not functional

    [SYMPTOMS]
    - When using the speller within Emails or notes nothing happens
    - When trying to determine the reasons for the speller not to work, opening the speller options

    [STEPS TO REPRODUCE]
    1. Tools > Options
    2. Tab Speller
    3. Usually one can see already in the Dictionary section that the Main Dictionary language is blank and that no selection is possible from the drop-down
    4. Additionally clicking on the button Setup Dictionaries does nothing so the button is nonfunctional

    Resolution

    [RESOLUTION]
    a. Verify that the SSCE_path is set correctly within the global GM.INI
    b. Verify that on the GoldMine shared path the Speller folder exists (including the specific files and sub folder(s))

    [STEPS]

    a. Verify that the SSCE_path is set correctly within the global GM.INI

    1. Make sure to log out of GoldMine
    2. Browse to the GoldMine shared folder (if you're on undocked user or a single user than this might be on the local machine)
    3. Browse to the GM.INI (make sure always to have a backup of this file)
    4. Open the GM.INI with Notepad
    5. Verify that in the GoldMine section [GOLDMINE] is an entry ssce_path= with the correct reference to the speller folder
    (i) when a SYSDIR entry resides in the GM.INI usually it would be sufficient to make only a reference

    [GoldMine]
    ..
    ssce_path=Speller
    ...

    It might be necessary to adjust the path with the full reference, in an application server environment then usually the UNC path to the  GoldMine shared folder\sub folder\speller, the entry may look like the  following

    [GoldMine]
    ..
    ssce_path=\\w12r2s12\GoldMine\Speller
    ...

    On an undocked user's systems this may refer instead to C:\ProgramData\GoldMine\Speller  (or to the folder where GoldMine is installed and the Speller folder is  available)

    6. Save the changed GM.INI
    7. Verify behavior by logging into GoldMine > Tools > Options > Tab Speller

    b. Verify that on the GoldMine (shared) path the Speller folder exists, including the specific files and sub folder(s)

    1. Browse to the GoldMine shared folder (where the LicenseGMxx.bin and the USER.INI  files reside - usually this is also the folder where the Reports, Templates etc. are available)
    2. Verify that there is a folder Speller including the files default_ssce.ini, default_userdic.tlx and ssce.chm and also at least the sub folder ssce_lex  with some further files

    [ADDITIONAL NOTE]
    - If the folder Speller doesn't exist and there is no possibility to install a demo installation on a test environment to grab the Speller folder from the new installation, please find in the attachment an archive with the speller folder content from a GoldMine 2015.2 demo environment. This can be extracted into the correct location usually the GoldMine shared folder see above. By doing that make sure to verify the folder structure is there should be only one Speller folder available after extracting the archive.
