Since GoldMine 2017.1 - Universal Search - "Include items from the local / remote Windows index” is disabled by default

Version 1

    Details

In GoldMine 2016.1 and lower once the Universal Search is installed (assuming that Windows Desktop Search was already up and running on the machine), the Universal Search will by default search the complete local Windows Search Index and if applicable also network drives for documents. This can make the Universal Search slow to return results and in some cases causes also an error related to the document search (see related Knowledge Article #18991)

GoldMine Development changed the default behavior and disabled the settings by default in order to prevent performance delays and potential errors when the Windows Desktop Search is not working correctly. This was logged as RM # 250756
