    GoldMine Web (GMWEB) - Directly after upgrading to GoldMine Connect 2017.1 getting blank CONTACTS page or Server Error - Cannot deserialize JSON request input parameter

    [STEPS TO REPLICATE]
    1. Open GoldMine Web 201x.x on a supported browser and make sure it works as expected
    2. Upgrade to GoldMine Connect 2017.1
    3. Open GoldMine Web 2017.1 again on the supported Browser used before
    >> RESULT:

     

    - The CONTACT page appears blank


    Other possible unexpected behaviors:
    - Clicking on the OPPORTUNITIES page >> Server Error - Cannot deserialize JSON request input parameter
    - Clicking on CASES seems not to do anything just a short screen flashing and remaining on the CONTACTS page

     

     


    Resolution

    [CAUSE]
    - The device/browser cache still contains old files which cause the GoldMine Web Client to render the screen with the old layout and not display the changes of new GoldMine Web layout correctly

    [RESOLUTION]

    As the Release Notes states at the beginning: Note:  ..... It is recommended to clear device/browser cache and to restart IIS after uninstall/reinstall or upgrade of GoldMine Connect. 

     


    1. While it is always recommended to clear the cache once a new version of GoldMine Connect was installed, it is necessary to clear/reset the cache for the browser to display the changes on the browser for GoldMine Web
    2. Clearing the cache of the browser depends on the specific browser, below is some helpful information for clearing browser cache on different browsers - although we recommend to clear all browsing data, in this case clearing the Cached images and files or also referred as temporary internet files would be sufficient.

    3. Log in again into GoldMine Web in a new browser session

    - CONTACTS page appears now as expected

    - OPPORTUNITIES page appears without errors and as expected
    - CASES page appears as expected
