NOTE: The Forced Logout option is disabled (set to 0) by default.

    - Log out user and terminate GoldMine when idle for a period of time. Click this box to automatically log
the user out of GoldMine and activate the following settings:

    - When idle for. Select the period of inactivity before users are automatically logged out of GoldMine.

    - Forced logout only after this time. Select the time for a forced logout.
The Forced logout only after this time is useful for making your system available for nightly maintenance, without forcing users
to log out during the business day.

TIP: The Force log out options are important in managing a limited number of licenses.; many
maintenance functions can be performed only if all users are logged out of GoldMine.

    Resolution

Business Case 1 - A user should be logged out automatically every time the user is idle or inactive for e.g. 30 minutes

    [STEPS]
    1. Log into GoldMine as a user with master rights
    2. Tools >> Users' Settings...
    3. Highlight the specific user >> Button Properties
    4. On tab Profile >> Button Forced Logout
    5. Activate Log out user and terminate GoldMine when idle for a period of time
    6. Set When idle for x minutes to 30
    7. Make sure to leave or blank out Forced logout only after this time

    8. OK >> OK
    9. Close
    10. Verify the behavior for the user
    >> RESULT:
Regardless from the time during the day, whenever the user is idle or inactive for 30 minutes the user will be logged out of GoldMine automatically.

Business Case 2 - A user should be logged out automatically when the user left work after the workday but forgot to log out of GoldMine - End of business day as example 6:00 pm

    [STEPS]
    1. Log into GoldMine as a user with master rights
    2. Tools >> Users' Settings...
    3. Highlight the specific user >> Button Properties
    4. On tab Profile >> Button Forced Logout
    5. Activate Log out user and terminate GoldMine when idle for a period of time
    6. Set Forced logout only after this time to 6:00 pm
    7. Set
When idle for x minutes to 10 (for example as a kind of grace time as the user may still work and may not have forgotten to log out yet)

    8. OK >> OK
    9. Close
    10. Verify the behavior for the user
    >> RESULT:
When the user is idle or inactive for example from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm (e.g. leaving for lunch) GoldMine will NOT automatically log off the user but when the user is idle or inactive from 6:00 pm - 6:10 pm the user will be logged out of GoldMine automatically as GoldMine as now the set time for the forced logout option is reached.

    Additional Note:
    - The setting can be toggled as desired for the specific business needs for example set the Forced logout only after this time to 6:30 pm but then set When idle for x minutes to 1 (as it is assumed that no one should work anymore in GoldMine)
    - Especially the business case 2 scenario is intended to make the GoldMine system available for nightly maintenance, without forcing users to log out during the business day, but it must be kept in mind that users who are actively working within GoldMine will not be logged automatically unless the when the idle for x minutes period is met.
