    A newly added F2 Lookup window entry seems not to be saved

    - Add a new entry to F2 lookup for a field; in this case SOURCE
      1.  Click in Source: field, then click right arrow
    2.  Click New, and enter a new entry
    3.  Click OK
    - New entry populates the field
    - Change the field to a different F2 value - new entry is still present
      1.  Click outside the field, click back in the field, and click the right arrow
      2.  Select a different entry and click OK
    - Go back to F2 lookup and new entry Radio Ad is not available anymore
      1.  Click outside the field, click in the field, then click right arrow

     


    Resolution

    [CAUSE]
    - This is intended behavior when, in the F2 Lookup settings, the check box List existing data is checked

    >> This setting will cause GoldMine only to display entries which are actually used in the  SOURCE field in the database, as from the above example the entry Radio Ad was wiped out from the current contact record's SOURCE field it is not an existing data and therefore not displayed in the F2 Lookup List.


    [STEPS TO CHANGE THE SETTING]

    - Deselect List existing data
    1.  Start GoldMine as a user with master rights and browse to any contact
    2.  Click on the affected field, and click the right arrow on the right side of the field
    3.  Click Setup
    4.  Uncheck List existing data
    5.  Click OK

    - Now when you create a new entry, it will be displayed in the list regardless of it's being used or not in any contact record
