Installing GoldMine on a workstation does not provide the option to connect to a new or existing database it tries to upgrade a server install of GoldMine.

Version 1

    Details

    - On a workstations there is not a local install of GoldMine but rather a shortcut pointing to an old server's GoldMine 6.x installation.
When trying to install GoldMine Premium Edition on this workstation the installer is trying to upgrade GoldMine on an old server install rather than install GoldMine on the workstation.

    - There is no option to select connect to a new or existing database.
    - Since GoldMine is not actually installed on the workstation and does not show in Programs or Features or show in Add/Remove Programs, how can we overcome this behavior on the workstation so that we are prompted to select a new or existing database?

    Resolution

    1 - Open registry.
2 - Delete the following entries:
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> FRONTRANGE SOLUTIONS
NOTE: On 64 bit Windows the path would be HKEY LOCAL MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> WOW6432NODE >> FRONTRANGE SOLUTIONS

    HKEY LOCAL MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> MICROSOFT >> WINDOWS >> CURRENT VERSION >> APP PATHS >> GMW6.EXE

3 - Verify when running  the new version installer it prompts for the current GoldMine share location when choosing to install to an existing database.
