    Details

LASTDATE and LASTUSER will not be updated when a Global Replace is only made on CONTACT2 fields while it does update when a single record is updated

    [PRE-REQUISITES]
    - Demo database (as here the LASTDATE and LASTUSER) are not yet updated

    [STEPS TO PREPARE]
    - for having a better view it might be good to put the LASTDATE, LASTUSER and LASTTIME on the primary view

    [STEPS TO REPRODUCE]

    1. Browse to Art Bardtoll
    2. Open the Tab Fields
    3. Open the View via right click >> Service Customer
    4. Change the content of the field Oil
    5. Verify the  LASTDATE, LASTUSER and LASTTIME fields (change contact and go back)

    >> RESULT:  all 3 fields are updated with the current user, today and current time
    6. Tools >> Data Management >> Global Replace
    7. Replace a field with a value
    8. Select Oil (Userdef10) + Value "123"

    9. set for ALL Contacts and Finish the Global Replace Wizard
    10. Verify for all other contact records LASTDATE, LASTUSER and LASTTIME fields
    >> RESULT: ONLY the LASTTIME field updated, the LASTDATE and LASTUSER did not change at all

    Resolution

    [CAUSE]
    This is RM # 233610

    [WORKAROUND]
include a 'spare' CONTACT1 field for example EXT3 which is related to the FAX entry into the Global Replace process
    1. Tools >> Data Management >> Global Replace
    2. Replace a field with a value
    3. Select Oil (Userdef10) + Value "123"
    4. Button Back
    5. Select Ext3 and either enter a value or mark it as blank

    4. set for ALL Contacts and Finish the Global Replace Wizard
    5. Verify for all other contact records LASTDATE, LASTUSER and LASTTIME fields
    >> RESULT: By including a CONTACT1 field in the Global Replace workflow now all 3 fields LASTTIME, LASTDATE and LASTUSER are updated with the correct values.
