    Details

Need to get a list of all the GoldMine fields and field labels in the database using SQL Server Management Studio. How would I do that?

    Resolution

You will need to run these queries in SQL Server Management Studio:

    1. Open the SQL Server Management Studio from the SQL Server
    2. Log into the SQL Server Management Studio when prompted. NOTE: You can log in using Windows Authentication if you are logged into the server with enough permissions or you can enter your SQL Server Authentication credentials

    3. Go to the Object Explorer in the left pane, expand "Databases" and right-click on the GoldMine database you want to query from and select "New Query":

    4. Paste in one of the following queries and click  button from the toolbar:

NOTE: This query gives all user-defined fields in Contact2
    SELECT *
    FROM syscolumns
    WHERE id = OBJECT_ID('CONTACT2')
    AND LEFT(name,1) LIKE 'U'
    ORDER BY name

    Example of results:

NOTE: This query gives all fields in Contact1
    SELECT *
    FROM syscolumns
    WHERE id = OBJECT_ID('CONTACT1')
    ORDER BY name

NOTE: This query should give you the fields labels for the Global Labels:

Select LABEL, FLDNAME, RECID from fields5 where rectype = 'F' and fldname <> ''

    Example of results:

NOTE: This query should give you the fields labels for the Local Labels:

SELECT Field_Name, locallabel, recid FROM CONTUDEF where locallabel <> ''

    5. Now Right-click on the results and click "Select All" and "Copy"
    6. At this point, you may paste to Excel, Notepad, etc...
