Rollup fails with error "Cannot insert explicit value for identity column in table "(tablename)" when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to off."

Version 1

    Verified Product Versions

    LANDESK Management Suite 9.5

Symptom: Rollup fails with error: "Cannot insert explicit value for identity column in table "(tablename) " when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to off." In this case, (tablename) can be any table in the LDMS database.

Cause: Registry value under HKLM\Software\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Core\Connections\Local\Rollup is not correct, and the DB tables have been built incorrectly.
Resolution: Check the registry entry for HKLM\Software\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Core\Connections\Local\Rollup. This value should be set to a 1. If it is not, change it. Once you have changed this value,

    1. Open rollup core's database.
    2. Right click on theappropriate table and click on Design Table.
    3. On the bottom part of the screen there is an 'Identity'. Click on that and there is a drop down box that appears. Change it from Yes to No.
    4. Run rollup again.
If this is a new rollup database, you can also change this value and then rebuild the database with COREDBUTIL to verify there are no more problem tables.
