GoldMine Connect log files are not being generated.

Version 1

    Details

    - As part of normal function and for troubleshooting purposes; GoldMine Connect generates several log files that can be very helpful.

    - In certain cases log files are not found when navigating to the GoldMine Connect directory normally located at C:\Program Files (x86)\GoldMine Connect on the IIS server where GoldMine Connect is installed
    - This article explains one cause of the log files not being generated and how to fix this.

    Resolution

    [CAUSE]
There is insufficient permissions on the \GoldMine Connect\Logs folder for the logs to be created.

    [RESOLUTION]
     1. Navigate to where GoldMine Connect is installed on the server; typically this is at C:\Program Files (x86)\GoldMine Connect

    2. Right click the GoldMine Connect folder and select 'Properties'

    3.Click the Security tab.

    4. Click the 'Add' button.
    5. In the 'Enter the object names to select' dialogue box
    6. Click 'Check Names' button.

    7. 'Everyone' should now show; click "OK" button.
    8. Highlight 'Everyone' in the security tab 'Group or user names:' list.
    9. Make sure all permissions are checked including 'Full control'.
    10. Click 'Apply' > 'OK'

    11. Restart or reset IIS either via the IIS Manager or an Administrative command prompt.
    12. Use or attempt to use GoldMine Web.
    13. Verify now that logs are generated in the GoldMine Connect directory generally located at C:\Program Files (x86)\GoldMine Connect\Logs
