    GoldMine Web (GMWEB) - When creating a new contact record in GoldMine Web clicking into the Company field causes a performance delay

    [STEPS TO REPLICATE]

    1. Log into GoldMine Web
    2. From the Menu overlay >> Select Add Contact
    3. Click into the Company field
    >> RESULT:
    A spinning wheel as if data is loaded appears which may take from just a few seconds up to a longer period (like 30 seconds or more)



    Resolution

    [CAUSE]
    - The Company field within GoldMine has by default the F2 Lookup setting "List existing data" enabled. This can help users to list and select appropriate company names for contact records (for example to keep data consistency when a customer is dealing with a lot of contacts from the same company - to prevent typos or different spellings/abbreviations for the same company).


    - In GoldMine Web the Company (also for other fields where F2 Lookup values are available) the F2 Lookup list will be displayed immediately when the field is selected, this means that indeed all the existing data for the Company values in the database are loaded which may cause these performance delays





    [RESOLUTION/CONSIDERATION]

    In GoldMine Premium Edition
    1. Log in with master rights
    2. F2 into the Company field or click into the Company field and select the right arrow to open the F2 Lookup list
    3. Button Settings


    4. Uncheck the List exiting data

    5. OK >> Cancel
    6. Verify in GoldMine Web again
    >> RESULT: Now the Company field may consist only of real added F2 Lookup list entries and in most cases simply show no values available.



    Additional Note:
    - This behavior might be experienced also for other fields where a lot of different data is available and the F2 Lookup List is set to List existing data
