    Symptoms

    When selecting the Access Rights option from within the User Personalization section of the Environment Manager console, the below error is thrown.

    "A Communication error with the server has occurred, Please try again later."

    UserName [DOMAIN\username]

    Exception {System.ServiceModel.FaultException}

    Trying to map ProfileService.BusinessEntities,AuthorizedUser to

    ProfileService.DataContracts.AuthorizedUser.Using mapping configuration for

    ProfileService.BusinessEntities.AuthorizedUser to

    ProfileService.DataContracts.AuthorizedUserException of type

    'AutoMapper.AutoMapperMappingException' was thrown.

    Cause

    The issue occurs if a user or group listed within the Access Rights option has an depreciated role associated to them. As of Environment Manager version 10, only the following roles can be associated with a user or group.

    • Administrator - (Role value 0)
    • Master Administrator - (Role value 1)
    • Support Console - (Role value 5)
    • Application Team - (Role value 6)

    However, in prior versions of Environment Manager there were an additional three roles which were used as part of the Environment Manager Browser Interface (EMBI). As the Environment Manager Browser Interface was replaced in Environment Manager version 10, these roles can no longer be associated with a user or group within Access Rights.

    • Web User - (Role value 2)
    • Web Admin - (Role value 3)
    • Self Service - (Role value 4)
