ITSM 7x SelfService login produces error: "403 System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. System.ArgumentException: Server names cannot contain a space character. at"
This occurs for the following reason: The user was explicitly not passed through from Windows authentication, and received a login prompt. They entered credentials which match their external login on their employee profile, but because they already did not get passed through from Windows authentication, the system tries to use those for an external authentication provider. The error occurs because there is no authentication provider configured.
The customer has two options, to resolve:
1: Configure authentication (see page 227 of the FOUND_Admin_Ref_ITSM.pdf)
2: Update the SelfService\Web.config file to set WindowsAuthentication key to true. (Also ensuring all other pass-through requirements are met -- see page 95 of the ITSM_Install_Deploy.pdf)
