How to stop all access to Service Desk (before doing a Live backup for example)?

    If you want to ensure that no user can connect to your system for a time (e.g., database maintenance), here are some short instructions to stop all access to Service Desk:

     

    • Go to your Configuration Center and log as SA;
    • In the Application Pools tab at the top select the option to 'Stop All' and confirm;

    • When you are ready to start back your service, go back to your Configuration Center and click on Start All application pools.

     

    You will have to do this on all of your instance to make sure no one can access it through any other address.

    During this time all users trying to connect to Service Desk will receive the HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable error message, ensuring that they cannot access the system as long as the Application Pools are stopped.
