Note: We currently support Windows Server 2012 R2 through 2014
Contact your salesperson for the download link to the latest release of Avalanche.
Download Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express Advanced or higher from Microsoft's website. (Currently support through 2014)
You will want to install everything as an Administrator.
Run the installer for SQL (In this example I am using SQL Server 2012 Express Advanced SP3).
Click New SQL Server stand-alone:
Agree to the terms and click Next
Install any SQL updates found by clicking Next.
Allow tasks to complete. You will see the splash screen change and flash several times.
Leaving the default features selected is typical for most installs. The needed features are Database Engine Services, Reporting Services - Native, SQL Server Data Tools, Management Tools, and SQL Client Connectivity SDK.
Select Default instance and click Next
On the following screen simply click Next
Select Mixed Mode, set your password (Note:you will need this during install of Avalanche) and click Next
Check Install only and click Next
Wait for installation progress to complete. This will take between a half hour to an hour typically.
Close out the Installation Center
Next open the SQL Server Configuration Manager
Open the SQL Server Network Configuration tree, select Protocols for MSSQLSERVER, select and right TCP/IP and click Enable.
Click OK on the message box that appears.
Select SQL Server Services, right click SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) and click Restart. Then close the Sql Server Configuration Manager
Install of Avalanche 6.2
You can obtain the download link for the latest release from your sales contact.
Install as administrator.
Note: Issues have been seen during the install if UAC (User Account Controls) has not been disabled.
Start your installer, click Run, select your language when you are prompted and click OK.
Go over the Pre-Install checklist if necessary and click Next.
Accept the License Agreement and click Next.
Select the destination of install and click Next.
Select New Installation and click Next.
Select desired features and click Next.
Enter in the requested information. Hostname is localhost (if you have installed SQL to the same machine), Username is sa (if you chose default instance and mixed mode during SQL install) and Password is the password you setup for your database. Click Next.
Select Yes to the next two popups.
Set the port for the File Server Configuration. Typically this would be left at default. Click Next.
Read over the Review Configuration page fully and click Next
Wait for installation to complete.
Your installation is now complete. You can launch your console. Chrome is the recommended browser.
