“Unable to launch your application” error while trying to start a Citrx XenApp application

    The error “Unable to launch your application” is displayed when trying to start a Citrx XenApp application.

    Consider the following scenario:
    • Citrix Receiver 4.0 or higher
    • Citrix Web Interface 5.4
    • The Citrix Receiver is connected and logged on to the Citrix Farm correctly
    • Application launch correctly when launched without the use of RES Workspace Manager.


    RES Workspace Manager parses XML’s generated by the Citrix Receiver.

    When Citrix Receiver 4.0 or higher is connected to a Web Interface instead of Storefront it generates a different type of XML file.



    Workaround: The Web Interface is considered as legacy software by Citrix. If possible, upgrading the Web Interface to Storefront solves this issue.
