Microsoft Outlook 2016 does not start when configured with RES ONE Workspace E-Mail settings

    Problem

    Microsoft Outlook 2016 is not launching when configured with RES ONE Worksapce E-Mail settings.

    As soon as the RES ONE Workspace splash screen is shown it will disappear and Microsoft Outlook 2016 is not launched in the user session.


     

    Cause

    Microsoft Internet Explorer Proxy settings are interfering with the startup of Microsoft Outlook 2016. The Microsoft Windows Application event log holds entries about rundll32.exe concerning the module olmapi32.dll.

     

    Solution

    Please consult the following Microsoft KB article (KB 3119083) and apply one of the solutions specified.
