E-mail Settings are not applied to a 64-bit application other than Microsoft Outlook

    Problem

    Consider the following scenario:
    • E-mail Settings are configured in the RES ONE Workspace Console.
    • These E-mail Settings are configured on a 64-bit application other than Microsoft Outlook.
    • From a user session the application is started.
    In this scenario the following error is displayed by Microsoft Outlook:
    Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfull the messaging request.
    Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.

    After pressing [OK] the application is started, but the E-mail Settings are not applied.

     

    Solution

    This issue is resolved in RES ONE Workspace 2016 SR1.

    In case the Service Release is not (yet) available or in case the Service Release cannot be installed, a revision containing this update is available on request at RES Support.
     
    IMPORTANT: A revision contains multiple fixes. Only apply this revision when you are experiencing a specific problem.
    Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, RES Software recommends that you wait for the next service release containing these fixes.
