Global Update GUID changes when seemingly no change was made in the RES ONE Workspace console

    Problem

    Even though no changes were made in the RES ONE Workspace console the Global Update GUID changes.

    On occasions multiple times a minute.
    While this doesn’t cause immediate problems it does cause the RES ONE Workspace Agents and Relay Servers to display as outdated.



     

    Cause

    The Global Update GUID is changed by the fact that Named Licenses are claimed when a new user logs on or when a license is rejected because its already in use.
    As the license is not part of the settings that need to be cached locally by the RES One Workspace Agent the update of the Global GUID is not necessary.





     

    Solution

    This issue is resolved in RES ONE Workspace 2016 SR1.

    In case the Service Release is not (yet) available or in case the Service Release cannot be installed, a revision containing this update is available on request at RES Support.
     
    IMPORTANT: A revision contains multiple fixes. Only apply this revision when you are experiencing a specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, RES Software recommends that you wait for the next service release containing these fixes.
