Unmanaged shortcuts for Microsoft App-V 5 applications are not replaced by managed shortcuts

Version 1

    Problem

Unmanaged shortcuts for Microsoft App-V 5 applications are not replaced by managed shortcuts even though this has been enabled on the managed Microsoft App-V 5 application in the RES Workspace Manager configuration. The option "Replace existing unmanaged shortcuts" is enabled.

The Microsoft App-V 5 sequence contains normally shortcuts for the start menu and/or desktop and these shortcuts are also placed if the Microsoft App-V 5 is started during the session.

    Cause

The command line for the managed and unmanaged is completely different and therefore not recognized by RES Workspace Manager.

    Example unmanaged shortcut:

    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\Integration\478B043D-622C-4F97-9A51-C595E875AEA5\Root\program\x.exe

    Example managed shortcut:

    %APPVPACKAGEINSTALLATIONROOT%\478b043d-622c-4f97-9a51-c595e875aea5\%APPVPACKAGECURRENTVERSION%\Root\program\x.exe

    Solution

This issue is resolved in RES Workspace Manager 2014 SR2.
