Multiple Microsoft Word processes are running in a session and causing a normal.dot conflict

Version 1

    Problem

Every time Microsoft Word is launched, a new process will be started. This causes a conflict in the normal.dot of the user.

For example when creating a macro inside Microsoft Word, it is called "Macro 1". When creating a macro in the second instance of Word, it is also called "Macro 1", because it is running in another Winword process. This causes a conflict in the normal.dot of the user.

    Cause

Microsoft Word is started with a /Q parameter. The /Q parameter suppresses the Microsoft Word splash screen. The side effect of this parameter is that it will not detect already running processes and starts a new process every time Microsoft Word is launched.

    Solution

Remove the /Q parameter from the Microsoft Word application.
