The RES Workspace Manager Console crashes when a 32-bit printer is added on a 64-bit server

    Problem

    The RES Workspace Manager Console crashes when a 32-bit printer is added on a 64-bit server. The 32-bit driver is not available on the 64-bit server. The normal behavior would be that the RES Workspace Manager Console gives the Error Message: no driver found. However in this scenario the following Error Message will be displayed:

    Cause

    The exception that causes the crash is caused by a Microsoft dialog box which cannot be handled from within RES Workspace Manager. If the printer is added through "Devices and Printers", then the following Error Message will be displayed:

    That didn`t work
    An error occurred when connecting the printer. Contact your IT administrator.
    Error: #1797

    The description for Error 1797 is: The printer driver is unknown.

    Solution

    Make sure that a correct printer driver is available.
