The TS Client IP address of a remote user shows 127.0.0.1 instead of the actual IP address

Version 1

    Problem

The TS Client IP address of a remote user shows 127.0.0.1 instead of the actual IP address.

    Cause

In some remote access solutions like Remote Desktop Gateway, or VPN appliances, the TS Client IP address is manipulated resulting in an unknown client IP address to the Remote Desktop Server or Terminal Server.
As a result, the Client IP address is also unknown to RES Workspace Manager.
This can be verified by checking the client address in the Windows Server 2008 R2 "Remote Desktop Services Manager" or Windows Server 2008 "Terminal Services Manager" (right click a remote session and select "Status").

    Solution

This issue is not related to RES Workspace Manager. This issue also occurs without the use of RES Workspace Manager within the session.
