First typed letters in the search box of the application list are scrambled

Version 1

    Problem

    Imagine the following scenario:

In RES Workspace Manager under Composition >Applications > Application list you type in a search string.

You then notice that the first two or three typed letters are scrambled. For example: the phrase "Internet Explorer" becomes "Tinernet Explorer"

    Cause

When the search string is typed very fast a buffer overflow occurs, causing the first letters to be scrambled.

    Solution

This issue is resolved in RES Workspace Manager 2014 SR2.

In case the Service Release is not (yet) available or in case the Service Release cannot be installed, a revision containing this update is available on request at RES Support.

IMPORTANT: A revision contains multiple fixes. Only apply this revision when you are experiencing a specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, RES Software recommends that you wait for the next service release containing these fixes.

    Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RES\Workspace Manager
    Value: ShowSearchFieldAlways
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: Yes

    64-bit:

    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\RES\Workspace Manager
    Or
    Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\RES\Workspace Manager
    Value: ShowSearchFieldAlways
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: Yes
