File type association not working properly in Microsoft Windows 8/8.1/2012/2012R2

Version 1

    Problem

    Consider the following scenario:

At Composition > Applications, an application, for instance Paint, was configured.
On the Properties > File Types tab of the application, a file type, for instance, .bmp was imported or configured.
A user session was running on Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 or 2012/2012 R2.

In this scenario, when the user opened a .bmp file, an "Open with" window was opened.
In this scenario, you also notice that the icons of associated file types have the default white icon with a green arrow in the bottom corner.

    NOTE:

For this solution to work, the following registry value must be set:

    Value: UseWin81FTA
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: Yes

    Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\RES\Workspace Manager
