New Application Notification is triggered every time a user is logging in to a RES Managed session on Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012/2012 R2

Version 1

    Problem

New Application Notification is triggered every time a user is logging in to a RES Managed session on Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012/2012 R2.

As a result will all applications, that are not pinned, in the Apps section of the Microsoft Tiles Screen have a label 'new'.

    Solution

    Default Microsoft Windows behavior.

This behavior is triggered due to the fact that RES Workspace Manager is creating shortcuts in the Start Menu depending on the configuration.

As a workaround you can switch this behaviour from Microsoft off by applying the following key in the User Registry part:

    Registry Key: [HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]

    Value Name: Start_NotifyNewApps
    Data Type: REG_DWORD
    Value Data: 0

In this way you can use the RES ONE Workapce Manager notifications.
