Users automatically logged off after an active screensaver

Version 1

    Problem

Users are automatically logged off after the screensaver has become active for several minutes. An entry is written to the Event Log of the Users session (Diagnostics > Workspace Analysis) the : "Forcing user session to logoff after timeout of 15 minute(s)".

    Cause

The option "Force logoff of user session after timeout" has been selected.

    Solution

By setting registry values, you can gracefully log off a RES Workspace Manager session.

To enable this mechanism, set the following registry keys:

    [32 bit]

    System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RES\Workspace Manager]
    Value Name: ForceLogOffEnabled
    Data Type: REG_SZ (STRING Value)
    Value Data: Yes

    or

    System Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RES\Workspace Manager]
    Value Name: ForceLogOffEnabled
    Data Type: REG_SZ (STRING Value)
    Value Data: Yes

      [64 bit]

      System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RES\Wow6432Node\Workspace Manager]
      Value Name: ForceLogOffEnabled
      Data Type: REG_SZ (STRING Value)
      Value Data: Yes

      or

      System Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RES\Wow6432Node\Workspace Manager]
      Value Name: ForceLogOffEnabled
      Data Type: REG_SZ (STRING Value)
      Value Data: Yes

    Important:

Define all registry keys which are available for the used RES Workspace Manager version in order not to run into a default 1 minute logoff value.

    - ForceLogOffEnabled (REG_SZ) "Yes" or "No"
    - ForceLogOffOnIdle (REG_SZ) "Yes" or "No"
    - ForceLogOffTimeout (REG_SZ) value in minutes for Idle time
    - ForceLogoffOnDisconnect  (REG_SZ) "Yes" or "No"
    - ForceLogoffTimeoutOnDisconnect  (REG_SZ) value in minutes for Disconnect time

If you are already using the ForceLogoffOnIdle mechanism, and you want to use the ForceLogoffOndisconnect, the timeout in ForceLogoffTimeout can be used to use the same timeout for both mechanisms. You can also use a different timeout for the Disconnect by setting a value in ForceLogoffTimeoutOnDisconnect.

In case the remote desktop is locked, the ForceLogOffTimeout will be applied.
