    Problem

    Message: "The application xxx you are launching needs User Settings that are currently being loaded in the background. Once these settings have been loaded, the application will start automatically."

    The start of the application is delayed dramatically.
    This also happen even when the (total) size of (all) the user settings is very small.

    One or more of the User Settings of this user contains User Settings of a Microsoft App-V application.

    The application will start eventually but messages like

    - Invoking "<application name>"...
    - Waiting for Async User Settings...
    - SQAving User Settings

    but they take longer than usually and no progress might be reported.

     

    Cause

    After you install this security update, virtualized applications in Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) versions 4.5, 4.6, and 5.0 may experience problems loading.

    Solution

    After removing Microsoft Hotfix KB2984972 from the affected systems, Microsoft App-V applications will start working again.
