The ClaimUserLicense command line parameter does not work when performing an unattended install of the RES Workspace Manager 2014 full client

Version 1

    Problem

The ClaimUserLicense unattended command line parameter should claim a user license during the install process for the specified user. The RES Workspace Manager 2014 full client install does not do this, but the RES Workspace Manager 2014 agent only installer does.

For example, the below command line should either claim a new license or retrieve the existing license for the user DEMO\ACavendish.

    Msiexec /i c:\RES-WM-2014-xx.msi ADDTOWORKSPACE=TestWorkspace CLAIMUSERLICENSE=DEMO\ACavendish /qn

    Cause

The RES Workspace Manager 2014 full client install is unable to properly claim the user license during an unattended install due to a timing issue. The RES Workspace Manager 2014 agent only install uses a slightly different process to claim the license that does not have this timing issue.

    Solution

Will be solved in RES Workspace Manager 2014 SR3.
