Managed applications in the Microsoft Windows Start Menu and / or Start Screen are not directly available

Version 1

    Problem

    Consider the following scenario:

    • Microsoft Windows Server 2016.
    • In Composition > Applications > Settings, the shortcut creation mode is set to: "Replace all unmanaged shortcuts".
    • In Composition > Applications > Settings, the shortcut creation mode is set to: "Replace all tiles on start screen".
The managed applications are displayed with a delay in the Windows Start Menu or Start Screen and even the workaround below from an existing knowledge base article is not working.

    Workaround:

Configure the following registry setting to change the way RES ONE Workspace will compose the Microsoft Windows Start Menu:

    [32bit Windows]
    System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RES\Workspace Manager]
    Value Name: AsyncStartMenu
    Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
    Value Data: No

    [64bit Windows]
    System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ RES\Workspace Manager]
    Value Name: AsyncStartMenu
    Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
    Value Data: No
