Using a variable in a /appvve parameter gives multiple error messages

    Problem

    Consider the following scenario:

    • A variable is used in an Ivanti Workspace Control managed application.
    • This variable is used in the /appvve parameter on the application (e.g. /appvve:%variable%_%APPVPACKAGECURRENTVERSION%).

    In this scenario, the following error messages will be displayed:

     

    Process: pfwsmgr.exe (C410286)

    Procedure: sharedAppV.fxmlGetAppV5PackageInfo

    Error #: 0

    Error Description: 'G_%variable% has an invalid token.

     

    Process: pfwsmgr.exe (C410286)

    Procedure: sharedXMLHelper.RemoveNode

    Error #: 0

    Error Description: 'G_%variable% has an invalid token.

     

    Process: pfwsmgr.exe (C410286)

    Procedure: sharedXMLHelper.CreateNode

    Error #: 0

    Error Description: The '%' character, hexadecimal value 0x25, cannot be included in a name.

     

    Process: pfwsmgr.exe (C410286)

    Procedure: sharedXMLHelper.CreateNode

    Error #: 0

    Error Description: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

     

    Solution

    This issue is resolved in Ivanti Workspace Control 10.2.600.0.
