User Settings fail to save files that do not have a file extension after upgrading to Ivanti Workspace Control 10.2.500.0

    After upgrading to Ivanti Workspace Control 10.2.500.0, User Settings, configured to save files that do not have an extension, might fail to save.

    This issue is best noticeable for Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Windows Themes, Google Chrome and the Credentials Store. However, other applications can be affected as well.


    The general Error Log might show the following error:


    Time: 1-3-2018 21:52:08

    Computer: Machine.Domain.ext

    User name: Domain\username

    Process: pfwsmgr.exe (10.2.500.0 - C411600)

    Procedure: clsPFRP.fysnAddFile (File: 'C:\Users\%username%\path\file')

    Error #: 0

    Error Description: Length cannot be less than zero.

    Parameter name: length



    The User Eventlog might show the following errors:


    Date/time: 1-3-2018 21:52:08

    Event: Failed to store file/folder in User Setting

    Result: File/folder: C:\Users\%username%\path



    Date/time: 1-3-2018 21:52:08

    Event: Saving User Setting "User Setting Name"

    Result: Failed





    This issue is resolved in Ivanti Workspace Control 10.2.500.1.


    Please note: Potential data loss might have occurred, due to the resolved issue, when User Settings have been overwritten by files that do not contain all data. A file restore of your User Settings could be required.
