Add-PSSnapin : The Windows PowerShell snap-in 'VMware.VimAutomation.VDS' is not installed on this computer

Version 3

    Problem

When running Ivanti Automation modules for VMware the error below is displayed.

Add-PSSnapin : The Windows PowerShell snap-in 'VMware.VimAutomation.VDS' is not installed on this computer.

    At line:46 char:1

    + Add-PSSnapin VMware.VimAutomation.VDS

    + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    + CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (VMware.VimAutomation.VDS:String) [Add-PSSnapin], PSArgumentException

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : AddPSSnapInRead,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.AddPSSnapinCommand

Get-VDPortgroup : The term 'Get-VDPortgroup' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

    Solution

The VMware.VimAutomation.Vds is not a Snapin, but a module and Import-Module should be used instead of Add-PSSnapin

The RES ONE Automation Pack for VMware 7.5.2 contains the correct commands for this. It can be downloaded from the link below.
