Consider the following scenario:
- An NCP Server for Linux is used to host a Novell filesystem share.
- This share is mapped in an Ivanti Workspace Control managed session.
In this scenario, the mapping the share responds very slow when it is opened.
The performance is severely degraded.
The NCP protocol is not supported by the AppGuard or FileGuard driver for translating the hardware paths to logical paths.
If the driver finds a hardware path that is not recognized, it will use a Microsoft Windows API to do the translation.
This API responds very slow, which in turn slows down the response of the mapping to the share.
As a workaround Managed Application Security can be disabled by following the article HOWTO: Completely disable Managed Application Security.
