Informational: What do the checkboxes on a field in the Data Model Editor do?

    A reference of check boxes for a field in the Data Model Editor.

     

    Active: Marks whether or not the field is active.

     

    General

    Group: Makes the field available wherever grouping is supported. (Group, Pivot, and Tree Components)

    List: Makes the field available where lists are supported. (Record List Component)

    Summary: Makes the field available for mathematical calculations. Number fields only. (Sum, Average, Min, Max) (Group, Pivot, Scorecard, Tree, Time)

    Unicode: Marks whether or not the source field is an nvarchar/unicode field.

     

    Filters

    Filter: Makes the field available for filter conditions in expressions (Group, Pivot, Record List, Scorecard, Tree, and Time components, as well as in Data Policies.)

    Admin Filter: Used for making Data Policies or Security Policies.

    Data model filter: This is used to make a hard-coded filter in the data model.

     

    Dates

    Date filter: Makes the field available for date filter conditions in expressions (Group, Pivot, Record List, Scorecard, Tree, and Time Components, as well as the Date Field and Date Range for the Time Component.)

    Default date: Each view should have one date field marked as the default date. Used for creating the Default Filter on the data source.

    UTC date: Marks whether or not the field is stored in the database in UTC time or not.

    UNIX epoch: Marks whether or not the field is stored in the database in UNIX Epoch time.
