Use-case Limitation of Ivanti Workspace Control

Version 4

    Question

Is Ivanti Workspace Control supported for use in scenarios such as:

    • Emergency and critical medical equipment (e.g. Operating/Emergency Rooms)?
    • Life and safety-related equipment?
    • Other mission-critical systems, which are utilized to manage and prevent death, injury, or severe damage?

    Answer

Use of Ivanti Workspace Control is governed by the Ivanti End User License Agreement (EULA).

As noted below, the software is not "designed, manufactured, or intended" for use in these types of environments:

Section 11: "THE SOFTWARE AND SAAS OFFERING ARE NOT DESIGNED, MANUFACTURED, OR INTENDED FOR USE OR DISTRIBUTION WITH ANY EQUIPMENT, THE FAILURE OF WHICH COULD LEAD DIRECTLY TO DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR SEVERE PHYSICAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE."

Older pre-Ivanti copies of Workspace may be covered by the RES EULA, which features similar language:

Restrictions: "End user is not permitted to...(vi) use the Software in or in association with safety critical applications such as, without limitation, medical systems, transport management systems, vehicle and power generation applications including but not limited to power applications."
