Recent Places and Recent Documents content is not remembered between sessions

    Problem

    Recent Places and Recent Documents content is not remembered when roaming between session whereby the local profile is deleted. Even though the Recent folder has been redirected together with AppData.

     

    Solution

    There are 2 locations were Recent Items information is written. When the Recent folder is redirected only the Folder path is changed. If either of the 2 locations is deleted the information in the other is deemed corrupted.

     

    Folder

    • C:\Users\%UserName%\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent

     

    Registry

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RecentDocs

     

    Create a User Settings in Ivanti Workspace Control to capture these locations if the Recent Items need to roam. Make sure to capture the respective locations as Folder Tree and Registry Tree.

     

    Note: Active Setup must be enabled in order to let Recent Places work properly.
