Consider the following scenario:
- An Ivanti Workspace Control managed application is slow upon starting.
- User settings for the application have been configured to use the Zero Profile mode Track any setting changed by the application immediately.
- General profile locations such as %APPDATA% or the registry hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER have been configured to be captured.
In this scenario, a decrease in performance will be noticed over time when starting the application.
The Zero Profile mode Track any setting changed by the application immediately is primarily meant for pass-through scenario's to prevent Last Write Wins issues.
Because this mode writes each and every change made by the application immediately, this can easily result in very large User Setting files.
These files are processed upon starting the application, which takes a considerable amount of time. This can be considered a performance penalty.
Either target specific locations used by the application or switch to the Zero Profile mode Capture targeted items on application end.
